At James Aiton Primary School, children at the heart of our inclusive community, where they can achieve success for today and develop skills for learning, life and work in the future.
James Aiton Primary is a happy school, with a warm, welcoming and inclusive ethos. We have high expectations of pupils’ learning and achievement, and we encourage our pupils to develop a love of learning and to play a responsible and caring role in the life of our school, our local community and the wider world. We value pupil voice and promote leadership across our community. We aim to provide a learning environment where all children are supported and challenged to reach their full potential. We value inclusion and celebrate diversity - our children are at the heart of everything we do.

Friends of James Aiton Primary School
We warmly invite all parents/carers or family members to join us in supporting our school community. By getting involved, you can help make a positive impact on your child's/grandchild's education through various events, fundraisers and activities. Your participation, whether big or small, will strengthen our efforts to enhance the learning environment for all pupils.
We look forward to working together to create a vibrant and supportive community for our children.

Committee News:

We are delighted to announce we have achieved our Bronze Rights Committed Award. The next step on our journey is Silver. Watch this space!
Junior Road Safety Officers - Louie and Niamh (P6)
Junior Road Safety Officers are appointed each year. This year, we are pleased to announce that Louie and Niamh from P6 will take on this role. In September they will attend a South Lanarkshire information event.Once back in school our JRSOs will contribute to the school's Health & Wellbeing curriculum by promoting Road Safety issues. They will organise competitions, present Road Safety information at Assemblies, assist in learning situations eg by reading Road Safety stories to younger children, and from time to time monitor safe parking around our school.

We are pleased to announce our Pupil Council Representatives have now been appointed for this session:
P4 - Chloe and Gracie
P5 - Eylah and Pearse
P6 - Jesse and Isabella
P7 - Paige and Archy
Paticipatory Budget Group:
Our PB group, made up of P1 - P7 pupils, will work together to agree possible options on how 5% of our Pupil Equity Fund could be spent. Following this, all children and staff will vote for their choice. We will also include all parents/carers' views in our decision. Keep a look out for the link to a Google Form to have your say. The link for this wlll be shared on the School App in the coming weeks.
