P7 Mrs Brownlee

Primary 7 are proving to be very good buddies to the Primary 1 children. They have all enjoyed completing many activities together.
On the various trips we have made outwith school e.g. to St Andrew’s Church and Stonelaw High School they have represented our school with positive behaviour and attitude.
Our IDL theme this term is the study of the U S A. This will have a link to the forthcoming School Show.
Most curricular areas are included in the theme.
All pupils will visit their chosen high school on various transition days.

Literacy Comprehension strategies; Prior Knowledge, Metalinguistics, Visualising, Main Ideas, Inferencing and Summerising will be used to encourage the children to engage with the class novel and other unfamiliar texts. Spelling Strategies will continue to be implemented to reinforce spelling words. The children will also use dictionary and thesaurus to assist with spelling and word choice when participating in Taught Writing as well as Daily Writing tasks. Please encourage your child to complete the homework task using the spelling words.

Our P E sessions this term are on a Tuesday afternoon. Please ensure your child has black/navy shorts, soft shoes and a change of tee shirt with them. Jewellery should not be worn on these days. Healthy Tuck Shop is available, for reasonable prices, on the last Friday of each month. Please ensure your child has a pair of soft shoes to change into inside the building. This could be trainers they no longer wear outside. These are necessary for gym activities and when leaving the building in the event of a fire alarm

No make up or false nails should be worn at school on any day. Thank you for your continued support.
