Eco Committee & GROW 73 (added 26.10.2018)
We were delighted that members of our Eco Committee could help GROW 73 earlier this week with the Greening Grey Britain campaign. The children helped to plant bulbs and shrubs in the planters on Rutherglen Main Street. A representative from Grow 73 commented that they "loved having children from the Eco group at James Aiton Primary" to help and hope everyone appreciates their hard work. We are very proud that our children are getting involved with the community and showing the importance they place on looking after our environment. Photos can be seen in our News Gallery.

We were delighted to welcome Ross from St Andrews Hospice and Mrs Morton, one of our parents, to Assembly this morning. This allowed us to present St Andrews Hospice with a cheque for £389.20 which had been raised at our Wear Yellow Walk and Retro Play day in June 2018. Mrs Morton's employer, Lloyds Banking Group, matched the money raised by the school, enabling us to provide the hospice with such a great amount. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in this fundraisng event. A photo of the cheque presentation can be seen in our News Photo Gallery.
